Default H22 OR TYPE R SWAP???

I wan't to do a H22 swap on a gs obd2 and i was thinking about it and i was wondering what would be diffrence if i swaped a type r engine in it instead of the H22 since they r just about the same hp. so my question is who would pick what and Y??

I just put an h22 in mine. Big difference between mine and type r. Go with the H22, it'll cost you about the same and you can easliy run 12's all motor.

If they are both almost the same, as you say, then it boils down to price. Do the cheaper one.

Personally I'd start looking into cost of mounts, mileage on the engines, cost of various parts to replace (regular stuff assosciated with swaps like timing belt, plugs, rotor, cap, etc) if they are both so close, again, as you say.

the h22 weighs a lot more and if you are using it for a daily driver you will have steering issues

What kind of sterring issues are thinking of? It really only weighs a 150 lbs more than the GSR if that. With all of the accessories I removed, the car weighs as much as it did stock. I know a few people with this swap who have no issues at all. The torque you get from an h22 makes it completely different than a type r. Personally I don't even think it is a comparison. The type r tranny is nice though

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1561964 go with the R and build-it!!! i stayed w/ b-series for the simple fact of simpicity. and also dosent weigh anymore. my built c5 probably weighs less than the A1.

Do you know this because you have actually swapped an h22, or because you read it?

I am pretty happy with the cornering ability and stability I have with the H22.
