clutch questions. OEM vs STAGE
its time to change my oem cluch for my sohc vtec. its paper thin. no slippage but it doesn't feel like it grabs hard enough to feel any power anymore. i dont know if this is true and need opinions from people that have tried both.
when i went from OEM to stage 3 in my 94 gsr i felt a difference. on OEM it felt good at start out when cold but after a few redlines it feels like it got too hot and wouldn't want to grab as good to produce power, in the stage 3, it didn't feel as strong overall compare to OEM(hot or cold, i think its cuz my engine was too weak to run stage 3) but no matter how many times i redlined it, it felt just as strong as the first pull. BUT i also notice on the stage 3 that at times when i would drive on freeways at 100mph+ for a while than exit, my clutch would feel GREAT, it seem like the clutch needs to be warm up to get its full potential. now i'm having same problem in my sohc. it feels great when it first starts and all but after a few redline or when everything is warm up it feels weak.
question is: should i stick to OEM or stage. i'm planning to get a stage 2. i might turbo it after this so stage might help, but it cost more and dont konw if it's worth it. i hope someone gets what i mean. this is the best i can describe it. thanks.

If you plan to boost your D series I'd go with either a Stage 1 or Stage 2 depending on your power goals.
If you're going to stay stock go with OEM or maybe a Stage 1. My friend's running an Exedy St. 1 in his F22 Prelude. It's a little jerky between low RPM shifts, but I love the stiff pedal feel.
Did you break in your Stage 3 when you had it or did you just try to romp on it out of the box?

Different companies have diffrent clutches for each "stage". Pick what you want (pucked, disk, sprung or unsprung hub, etc) and then find something to suit your needs.

It won't be "bad" for the car, but it'll be more difficult to drive for a DD. You should already know that since you've run a Stage 3 before.
But like Ricey said, every company has different "stages", you need to find out how much power you want to make and get a clutch suited to handle that power.

does he mean he likes the stiff clutch pedal feel or the stiff gas pedal. weird question to ask i know, but when i went from oem to stage 3 in my gsr i felt my gas got stiffer. i could be wrong, someone correct me if this is possible.

His actual clutch pedal got stiffer, not his gas.
I'll admit, it's a nice balance between comfort/daily driving and track/hard driving.
It's stiff, but not incredibly stiff like my friend's Grand Stock car, nor as stiff as my friend's Formula car (clutch pedal on that is ******* impossible). It also grabs well for his current power level. We'll see what happens when he goes turbo.
edit: I know what you mean by the "blah" OEM clutch feeling. I just wish the pedal was a little stiffer sometimes, with shorter pedal movement.
