it doesn't throw a code you wil just be drivin and the rpms go real low then dies and wont start again then after a while it will start back up and drive just fine then die again
Thanks again
Thanks again
It could be the IGNITER UNIT, not uncommon to fail and can fail intermitantly.
Symtoms sound about the same as when mine started to act up.
Igniter modual lives inside the distributor
Cheers

When it "died", did everything shut off (Lights, Radio etc), or did the engine just shut off?
When it "died", did it do so like someone turned off a switch, or did it start sputtering and then 'piffft' it stopped?
During either of these episodes, did you check for spark IMMEDIATELY afterwards?
If you lost lights, horn and everything else, it would be the column mounted Ignition Switch.
If otherwise, I'd suspect the main relay.
But I'd like a little more info b4 I make a fool of myself

usually the MAIN RELAY wil not allow car to start.. As of yet i have not heard of it killing the engine once started...but ehy there is a first for everything ..
Like P said, we need more infos .. how often does car die?? many times per day ?? once a day?? etc etc ..
When car dies,if it does not start right away you need to chk if it is lack of spark or fuel.it will make diagnosing it a lot simpler ..
If you have a fuel pressure gauge, hook it up and drive car with it,, monitor the pressure when car starts to act up..
also take a spark plug with you, when car dies and will not restart, pull a wire off, connect plug into the wire, ground the plug, rank the engine , you might have to look through the lower opening on the hood to see if getting any spark,,
also pull the distr cap off and chk the rotor for any pits or burnt signs ..
