Default Might be moving up from my EF

Today i found a 1999 civic ex coupe with roughly 80k miles on it. 5spd and all, its exactly what i want but you can't tell much until you drive it. The car is great looking with the paint being excellent w/ great interior but it has been riced out (no offense) with altezzas, big rims and a fart can. It bothers me because it could have been owned by some punk who revved the hell of it thinking he's all that. I'm going to try it out tommorow and see how the engine portion is. Is there anything i should look out for when i'm driving it and giving it a strong look over at my house before i return it? Any window problems or squeaks? I am an owner of a ef hatch so i know my hondas, but it never hurts to ask to double check. Hopefully it'll be alright.

I dunno what you people are talking about with upgrading, but I guess if you had CRXs like me it would be obvious that an EK is a downgrade,

Just kidding though, subjective truths and all that.

Well, drove the car today and it's bloody awesome. I have never drivin a d16y8 before an i love it. You gotta understand, my current and first civic is a d15b1 with 70hp and a 4spd stock. But the car handles well and the paint is great. Shifts great and all the options work inside. I did however notice that the passenger side window is alot slower going up and down than the driver side. We also found out that the car didn't have a keyless remote with it so i'm gonna have to get one at a honda dealership. Another thing we found was that the entire trunk top was laid with dynomax sound proofing material. It's quite nasty to look at but i bet however did it, had some money. Other than that, we talked them to 7,300 for it and i think tommorow i'm gonna get it. I'm really excited as this is a car i've wanted for a while now. Any pointers on what else to look out for?

EKs have frequent window problems. Search for "window" and you'll see what I mean.

$7300 is too much for an EX that has been riced out and likely beaten. I sold my clean, bone stock '00 Si with 77k for $8900 last year, and I've seen them cheaper than that. For that kind of money, look for an Si - its much better than the EX (even though it still sucks).

Can't argue with that. I got rid of my EM1 and kept my '91 CRX. EKs are lame; I'd rather have an EF or EG any day.

Well, got the loan accepted today and bought the car. I absolutely love my ek coupe now, but hey, i'm not bashing my ef hatch at all. I'll miss it cause unfortunately i can't keep it but it was my first honda experience and damn did it teach me alot of what a honda is. I will say that later in life when i get my own place, i will return to the ef civ's or better yet a 2nd gen crx. It would be my ultimate clean ride that i would keep the rest of my life.

But damn do i love the d16y8. I know i'll probably get tired of it soon, but it's just so much different. Thanks guys for your help. Cya around.
