Is my CRX heavy?? Whats yours weigh?
My 89 HF w/ B16 was like 1900 lbs. with me out of it. I have no interior, no door panels, 1 Tenzo seat, strut bars, and 17's. I went to the land fill/dump and asked if they could just weigh my car, they looked at me wierd but said yes. Im hoping that the scale was off or something, I was thinking it would be much lighter! Whats your cars weight? Does 1900 sound right for my set up??
I think it sounds right, the b16 is a bit beefier then the d series it came with. I'm sure you can search and find the weights they came with or maybe it's even in the FAQ.
my hf w/ b16 weighed in at 2120
-heavy 15" wheels
-full interior- spare tire
-dyno mat (now i want it out)
-integra brakes and knuckles

Is that tenzo seat heavier then stock if so get a lighter aftermarket seat.
My rex with me in it weighs in at about 2200 with me in it, and thats a turbo b16 with an autopower roll cage, and heavy *** aftermarket seats and brackets.

If you want to get serious about weight reduction, you might wanna talk to the guy at http://www.zcspeed.com . His EF is down around 1400 pounds (in no way street legal.) He might be able to help you out in determining what the best route for weight reduction would be...while still keeping the car legal.
for zc speed, sorta local to me. i haven't had a chance to weigh it yet but i have dropped 184ish lbs out of my 88 hf.
no interrior, just stock seats(not for long hello momo), no dash(just the cluster), no ac(every component out and for sale!), no ps(duh), no heater core, no fan blower box, no radio, etc.
plans: lexan rear hatch very soon(home depot
), remove needless little brakets inside car, fiberglass doors and lexan windows(fal prolly), lexan windsheild, fiberglass(or cheap cf) hood, maybe fiberglass hatch.yeah i like light cars hehe
oh heres something fun with crx's. get a friend of yours and yourself on each corner of the rear of the rex. and lift! we can get the back of the car up to our chests, im sure one person could lift it but there isn't a good grab point lol.

An easy way to lose 20 lbs. Your battery.
This might sound weird, but I swear this works. Take one of the portable car booster packs, they have a 3-4 lbs battery. It will crank over a B-Series haha...no word of lie, we use this in our race car. You can leave it in the front of the car because it distributes no weight.
