couple of quick questions: Brand New Garret t3/t04e 57 trim .63 ar

1; is my turbo suppose to have a tapped hole in the compressor side? My friends does, but mine doesn't



2; is the inlet on the compressor suppose to be smooth or rough? My friends is smooth and mine is all rough and course

yeah it is brand new

 

mine isnt tapped, and it is smooth inside the compressor...

 

should be smooth on the inlet. some turbos arent tapped.

 

so will it hurt that mine is rough?

 

i dont think it will. its a brand new garrett turbo, its like that because thats how they wanted it, so leave it be. garrett manufacturers quality **** and what does it matter if its rough or smooth. its not like it will alter hp or damage the urbo. it looks like where the whel sits its machines smooth and the upper portion is just a lil rough. dotn sweat it man, run it the way it is

 

the picture there is fine you see how its machined where the blades are? Your turbo is 100% fine
