Air Ventilation buttons?

Air Ventilation buttons?
I've owned my 87 crx hf for about two months now and i STILL don't know which buttons do what. there's vent, hi-lo, hi-def or something, heat, rec, and de-froster/fogger. what do they all mean?? well i know heat, vent, and de-froster (speaking of which, heat doesn't work in my car). any help would be appreciated.
