Default Loud ticking on acceleration. Fuel injectors?

This will only happen when i step on the gas hard. Idle is fine. Stock b7. As soon as i let off it stops. Could this be the injectors? Also i have some 330's from a galant. Will those work with my stock ecu? Thanks in advance.

Dunno, but 330s will not work with the stock ecu.

If you're going turbo might as well get the ecu chipped already in which case you can use the 330s.

To clean out your injectors well toss some acetone in the tank, just don't get any on the paint.

Just get 100% acetone nail polish at cvs, you only need a few ounces.

rod bearings/main bearing? For real? I hope not because i don't have money for a new motor. DAMN!! Well if it blows i'll just get a h22 swap i guess. Lol! Just curious how much would it cost to fix that?

Use a screwdriver to listen to your injectors... point on the injector handle on your ear. Move the throttle cable to see if they get worse at a higher rev.

Of course cleaning everything out is probably a good idea anyway, but you might want to change your fuel filter first (don't want to free up a bunch of crud).

a valve adjustment would be the cheapest to do first because it's free and it's routine maintenance

Autozone wants 85 bucks. Is this a normal price? For all 4 injectors and the motor has 127K on it.

Is it only when it is in gear and under load going down the road or does it do it in [P] or neutral too?If it's just when it's under load my guess is "Spark knock" from your timing being out of adjustment.Check your distributor cap and rotor and if they look good check your timing and make sure it is in or close to specification.Cap and Rotor Kit is $34.99 at AutoZone or the cap is $13.99 and the rotor is $9.99 and those are both normal stock items. Also check your spark plugs and make sure they are gapped correctly.I hope this helps.

Well i just checked my fuel injectors and they are good. The noise only comes in under load in drive (auto). It does not come out when i rev it in park. Now that it was mentioned detonation does sound like a possibillty. The noise started making itself known after i changed my distributor o ring. And recently it has been coming out real loud. I i have been running 87 octane since i got the car, i might have put 93 in a couple times. Checked my plugs and wires. They look good it seems like one of the spark plug boots doesn't want to snap on the end of the plug. Should i just do all my maintenance or say screw it and pick up a JDM d15b VTEC this weekend. Haha.
