I want to bump up the cr from 10.6 to 11.1. I was wondering if there were any reliability issues by doing this with the Mugen or Spoon 1 layer gaskets? Anyone using it with/out problems?
Who stocks the Spoon 1 layers?
Thanks.

The Mugen gasket is a 2-layer gasket which is sold by king motorsports www.kingmotorsports.com
If you have a GSR then your stock compression is 10.0:01. I have called inlinefour.com and they stock the spoon 1 piece head gasket you are looking for. They told me that 1 piece was designed for the b16s and that you should watch out for piston to valve clearance with it. http://www.inlinefour.com has some good prices.
Piston to valve clearance will not be an issue unless you are running very big cams (e.g. JUN3 or Toda C).
A single layer gasket will raise your compression but they don't last as long as a stock gasket. I had one on my VX a few years back on an ITR setup. It ran fine and lasted for quite a while and was still fine when I sold the car. You may experience some slight oil leaks from the front left corner of the head.

sure it will raise compression by like what .3 or .4 or something, but it costs like $100-$175?? and you will prob have to change it every few times you crack the head open....you prob will have leaks too. is it worth it??
never ever run a one layer. You'll run into serious sealing issues. do one of 3 things. high compression pistons is the correct safe way, mill head, or do a 2 layer aftermarket or make your own with a stock gasket. That tin sheet center section of a stock gasket isn't gonna do all by itself

That tin sheet middle layer works great once you spray some Permatex on it and up the torque spec a little.
No leaks on my B18C w/ B16A pistons when I had it.

Does anybody know the thickness of all the headgaskets(these)?

How many others out there are running single stock gaskets? and how reliable is your car now?
Also Stinky tofu if he has 10.6 compression he has a JDM gsr/b18c motor. I also have this motor and want to up my compression to 11.0-11.1, but dont know which head gasket will help me achieve this and still have my car last without clearance problems... Some say the mugen will rasie compression by .3or.4 and some say the spoon will only give me .2or.3.
can someone shed some light please?

headgasket. either from the 2 layer or possibly arp head stud stretch. I'm pretty possitive its just gasket though after looking at it again. with 3 cylinders leaking...first thing i thought was head warp. wasn't the case...nor was there a problem with deck. that means...had to be gasket or studs and once again...gasket looks like the cooper spray blew thru. All of this means? I'll be up and running in a week or so...yippiiiiiiiee
sorry but which headgasket would be recommended? i am going to be running toda As soon. i was thinking about mugen but i am having second thoughts. what about spoon 2 piece? if not either of these then should i stay stock or do you have any other suggestions? thanks alot guys
