Default who has d series head experiance, need info

just wondering if y8 heads being totally worked over really help? im having a local shop port and polish my head. they are also doing a valve job and im thinking of buying a crower stage 3 cam, ti springs, retainers, and maybe some stainless valves. im just wondering if these motors come alive with headwork or is money better spent elsewhere? keep in mind i already have forged 12:1 pistons and eagle rods for the bottom end. that means im not turboing this motor. please dont suggest it. thanks to all that can help

from the initial thought of it, yes, if your building an all motor application that sounds good. the y8 heads supposedly flow better than any D head too. that and i would get some tuning for it too

I've always heard the z6 head flows the best. So you'd be better off with a z6 head and a y8 intake manifold and an upgraded valve train. Personally, I'd save my money on the port and polish and upgrade elsewhere.
