when i accellerate or shift or especially stop abruptly in my 91 dx hatch with LS swap i hear a pretty loud clunk.. almost like a motor mount is loose but its not.. so far i have replaced the tie rods and control arms and all mounts and suspension are as tight as can be.. the motor doesnt even move when i drive so it cant be that but something is def hittin or rubbing cause i hear the noise every day.. the steering rack is tight and every single thing i check is tight and i still hear this? what could it be?

 

Check or have a garage check your lower ball joints.

 

radius rod bushings or upper strut mount bushings for sure

 

might be some play in the tranny. I had that problem and it ended up being a bad diff

 

I had a similar problem before, but I could also reproduce this by driving over a bump or a dip. Check out the radius rod, thats what fixed my problem.

 

I had the same problem in my DA , it was an automatic, im almost positive it was the tranny though, and one of the motor mount was bad
