ok so my local junk yard has a d16y8 engine in a stolen honda civic ex. i have d16y7. should i pay like 200-350 is that like a fair price??? it has 126,000miles on it. will i have to drain the oil on my car when i do a head swap?? my freind also said i will have to connectl like 3 wires. what would those be???

 

I think that's too much for a sohc vtec head. You can get yourself a low mileage JDM D15b Vtec with that price. I would check around the honda-tech classifieds, but just my opinion.

wow, you should be able to get the whole longblock for that.

 

See if you can get it down to like $50 with all parts and valve cover. If not find one somebody might have lying around for that.

 

oh so like fukin i shouldnt really pay anything almost. but what will i need if i just swap the head? will i need to drain the oil??? just hook up the wires
