Default Wierd Wiring Problem (searched)

I just finished up my d16z6 (obd-0 to obd-1 conversion) swap into an 88 crx si.

Yesterday it cranked up fine except for it threw code 9 (cyl position sensor). Well do day i went to start it all i got was a clicking sound. Tried it two more times and on the third time all the dash lights turned off and the indash brake light stayed on.

Now if i turn the key to crank it itd dead silent but my radio turns off then back on (i think thats normal now that i think about it). I checked all teh fuses both under hood and dash and nothing is blown . I got a feeling this has never happend to no one which would be jsut my luck.

All the lights in the dash except for check engine, charging light, oil light (seems to be ecu type lights work). Hazards, head lights, bright lights, and turn signals all work.

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advanced,

mondo

the first thing I would check are your grounds, make sure they have a good connection. check the one from the valvecover/body, wiring harness/thermostat housing and the battery/body/trans. start there and make sure you have good battery connections.

Did you do the OBD0-OBD1 yourself? I would go back through and check your plugs int the engine bay and to the ecu. Keep us updated, I'm very curious to know what happened.

i got the whole conversion thru rywire. But i don't think its the harness. Would a loose ground cause permenant electrical problems? I ask because the tranny to chassis ground looks like it needs to be replace. Its making contact by the tranny by only like 3/4 of the strands of wire it seems like.

Im putting new grounds on it as soon as i get moved this weekend and pray that if it was that ground that caused my lil problem, i hope its not permanent.

*update* i replaced all my grounds with DIY one from home depot. It fixed my problem. seems that the tranny to frame ground was a goner. now to get rid of my code 9!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hope my timing is just off..i dont want to buy a new distributor. I need that money for new tires so i can mount my grids.
