Default 06 RSX/ Type S. Intake/exhaust Questions

Just bought a 06 Acura S-Type RSX. Wanted some help on what type of intake and exhaust to put on it. For the exhaust I don't want a big tip on the muffler or a high pitch sound. Deeper the better. (2 ricey) also wondered how much extra HP these two upgrades can give. That is all I plan to do to the car.

Injen Mega Ram worked well for me. I just hated the way the AEM V2 sat close to the linkage. As far as exhaust, the Fujitsubo power getter produces very good power while maintaing a low deep tone at low rpm's. I would also suggest the DC race header and k-pro to really unleash the power out of your motor.

for the powergetter. It bottlenecks to like 2 inches. As for intake Injen makes the most power. and Comptech exhaust is 2.5 in and it looks almost stock.

getting a cai will get you around 5 whp. getting the exhaust wouldnt help much because the 05 - 06 exhaust is already 2.25inches i think. so next best thing is race header another 5 - 10 whp from that

the rsx's stock exhausts are very free flowly, i wouldn't waste the money on an exhaust until you get more mods, its just not worth the extar attention when you pull into your sub.

I got an Injen race series (the long ones) on my '06 type-s and it works GREAT! The exhaust I would not change for a while, but the header needs to be free'd up. A race header will do you some good!

I have an AEM CAI. I like the way it sounds and it provided a slight power gain.

just installed a k@n Cone filter to the stock rsx piping on my buddies rsx type s, and it made some noticeable power gains....the car pulls alot harder all over the powerband and sounds really mean....if i had a rsx, i'd change the intake first then exhaust and header....

when import tuning magazine dynoed a 06 rsx-s, with i-e, stock they netted 159 and after the i-e they netted 181...below is the link

http://www.importtuner.com/powerpages/0201it_pprsx/

with a good header and reflashed ecu, its possible to hit mid to low 190 hp...

Something's wrong there. I've seen an '05 bone stock dyno 180hp. With i/h/e and reflash I've seen over 200hp netted at the wheel.

Injen makes the best CAI for the 05/06 RSX Type-S. the newest one out is the SP1477. You can get a decent deal on them at clubrsx. As for as exhaust goes...hmmm well the Spoon exhaust doesn't have a big tip or anything and it does produce a nice deep tone. i've heard mixed reviews on the fujitsubo powergetter (pg) but haven't seen it in action myself. Good luck on your decision and congrats on the new car!!!

Also want to note that they didn't say what type of dyno they used. some dyno (i.e. mustang dyno) have been known for giving lower numbers especially on cars like the RSX.
