Well obviousl that tranny's gotta go if you go with the B... If you want cheap numbers just get a D and turbo it.

sohc zc is probably the easiest, but myself im going with a obd1 sohc vtec engine, it has alot of aftermarket parts, unlike the the dohc zc, and has vtec, unlike the sohc zc, but thats my opinion. go to hmotorsonline.com, they have good cheap stuff

Well I guess it really depends on what your goals are. But since you already have an si tranny, I would say go for the DOHC ZC. I have one and love it. Going turbo soon hopefully. Unless you're a single cam guy, then I would say SOHC VTEC ZC. But that's just my $.02 What's your budget like?

lets see here... d16z6, d16a6 (si motor), d15b vtec, d16y8, zc (basiclaly the si motor) those are all cheap swaps with ok power and u can find most of them on hmotorsonline, but good luck finding the z6.

There were no actual ZCs in the US. To my knowledge the "ZC" is a sctricly JDM motor. Go with the DOHC if you're planning to turbo.

If you want more info on the zc, go here: The ZC Resource

OBD 0 for the cheapest. OBD 1 for a little more money. Go with a SOHC VTEC that would be good power and cheap.

88-91 Civics are OBD 0 from the factory

OBD0 - DOHC ZC is going to be the easiest to swap and give you the most power for the money - SOHC ZC would be the same as far as swapping, but less power

Yeah that d16a1 ecu would work good,,but it runs the dohc zc alittle rich and the rev limit is higher..

^^yeah that would work, but it really could run a lot better with a PM7 or a chipped PM6. I know you are on a tight budget (so was I), but you can find some good deals out there if you are patient and look in the right places.

I was runnin stock PM6 ecu at first. When I got the chipped PM6 (with PM7 maps, etc) I felt a whole world of difference. Maybe not necessarily in power, but it just ran much better. But again, just my $.02
