Default Someone please help me- what is this?

ok 1. i dont know that much about cars but im trying to learn as i go 2. so something has been wierd with my shifter as of lately. all the top gears 1-3-5 are acting funny, like if im getting on it and i go from 2 to 3 it wont go in until the motor slows down a little bit. so i take off the console to take a look and i might be stupid but is this a short shifter? i have never taken this off before so i didnt know! is anything wrong with it? anyone know what the problem could be? thanks for the help!

yup, thats a short shifter adapter. if it were my car i would swap it all out for a 4bidden short shifter. much tighter throws and no notchiness at all.

edit: why the hell would you bump your thread after 4 minutes? patience grasshoppa

the short shifter appears to be installed properly. Try taking it off and bolting the cable back to the oem position. Bring it for a ride if you are still having problems it may be a tranny problem.
