Default prelude flywheel

How much does the stock h22 flywheel weigh? I'm also thinking about buying a lightweight flywheel for street use and also a bit of track use, how light should I go...?

and why would that be?????

i have a 8lb fidanza flywheel, didn't make that much a difference

there are TWO full race preludes who have the same exact flywheel.

so tell me what are your reasons for not having a flywheel under 10lbs other than internet banter and ppl claiming non-street drivability?

Yea, thats pretty much BS. 8lbs is fine for the street if your competent in driving a manual transmission.

another 8lb fidanza here! i have had no problems with it, and i love the way it revs up and down so quick. people need to stop saying that 8lbs is too light unless they personally have had problems with it. don't diss on the 8lbs flywheels because they kick a$$!

8lb is great, but does take a little getting used to.

another 8# fidanza lover. . . . the only thing thats a downside on a daily driver is that the wheels break free easier in the rain, you have to be careful and finesse the throttle

Well! Now all the people who love their 8-lb flywheels come out. Yep, I gave out some secondhand advice, and you caught me . But at least I said, "from what I hear." I'm honest.

Anyway, glad to hear all the recommendations for 8 lbs. I was about to get a 12-lb'er myself because people on the forums say 8 lbs is undriveable. ...At least, up until now.

well how many people here who have a 8 lb. flywheel also tried something a little heavier and don't say you use to have the stock flywheel everyone here says 8 lbs. is the way to go but how much better can you say a 8 lb. flywheel is than a 12 lb. flywheel? just trying to play devil's advocate BTW, I have a lightened stock flywheel and including its resurfacing, for $100, I like it

my friend also had his stock flywheel lightened to somewhere around 16lbs, and it didn't make a difference in both our opinions. thats why i decided to go with a 8 lb. i wanted to feel a big difference.

you have other problems dude, a flywheel doesnt make your car stall

an 8lb is in NO WAY undriveable....
