are you saying that both wheels are not spinning if thats the case then i say clutch if its just on wheel more then the other then i have seen this before usually the right wheel will always spin more it has a shorter axle as well as less weight just my 2cents

i thought a spool was solid so niether wheel can spin more or less than the other.

But, yes a spool will only spin both tires. Im guessing you were either still in the water while doing the burnout which caused no/little smoke.

If you didn't have spinners you gf wouldn't think they weren't spinning...JK..but sometimes it can look like a rim isn't spinning very fast, or even looks like it is spinning backwards.

Also, wheat gear are you doing hte burnout in? That will make a difference in how much smoke there is due to the friction at higher speed getting the tire hotter.
