Default preventing the LCA bolt from breaking / stripping?

Hey guys

Im about to do a suspension install, and I was searching and reading misc. info.

I realized that a lot of guys have stripped / snapped the LCA bolt . I would REALLY love to avoid this problem as it is a big hassle. I do not have money to buy new LCA's or bushings atm. I need the install to go through as smoothly as possible

My civic has been down south all its life, so I hope there isnt too much corrosion down by the LCA bolts

Tonight, I went out and bought a can of PB Blaster. I was thinking if I sprayed some on tonight, and sprayed on some tomorrow night, I should be ok by Friday afternoon?

thanks

Well if the bolt has seized it doesn't matter since it is hard as hell to get them off. Just try a big freaking breaker bar and if it strips you'll have to cut it out and get new bushings and bolts...nothing much you can do to change that if it happens.

The problem is not the bolt head that froze, most of the time its the bolt shank that got froze to the sleeve of the bushing. You'll know if when you are trying to undo the bolt, you notice the bushing twisting with your motion.

use the PB blast, then when re-installing the LCA, apply anti-sieze on the bolt.

Yup, good job the with PB Blaster every night till d-day! I would strongly advise grap one of them $15 torches at Lowes or Home Depot, and heat that bolt/bushings up. You may hurt the bushing a bit, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

It will help, you really need to soak the **** out of those bolts. Make sure it soaks into the bushing to. Make sure when you take those bolts out you dont try and take off the nut, its WELDED to the LCA. Ive seen some people do this and get nowhere lol

You can try hitting it with an impact to see if that would save it from breaking. If it's already really worn out though you might just rip the head off the bolt.
