205/45/16 or 205/40/16 WHICH IS BEST?
I am putting some Circuit 10's (+45 offset) on my 93 SI. It will also have TEIN S-Tech springs and KYB GR2's on it. I was wondeing if anyone has this combo or anything close to it and good give me a heads up on the best size. Anyone else with knowledge of this set-up or anything like feel free to chime in. I will be making my choice tomorrow.
Oh ya please advise me of any kind of RUBBING, it is my pet peave!

I'd go with the 40 series tires just because the s-techs have quite a large drop do they not? I had lowered my car 1.5" on some eibach springs (smallest drop) and it looked decent. I think that with 45 series tires, you might rub if your gonna be that low. Here is a pic of my car on 16's with 40 series tires the day it got lowered, so the springs still settled a little lower than that:
go with the 45's ive had 40's on my 16's with my s. tech drop and the wheel gap was too much, so i went with 45's and it filled it in, doesnt rub, and it rides like a cadillac
Go with the 45's. The reason why I suggest going with this size is because the extra sidewall gives you a little more protection if you hit potholes or anything in the road. The roads where I live suck it actually takes skillls to drive down the roads that I live close to.Second you wont have the lower the car as much and the price difference between the two isn't that much.

It depends on the car. You need to get the tire size whose outer diameter matches the stock tire for the car - preferably with 1 percent. If you get a tire whose outer diameter is significantly off, it will throw off the speedometer and odometer, and it can cause rubbing in the wheel wells, slower acceleration, etc.
205/40-16 is the best matching size for most '95 and earlier Civics, the '96 Civic hatchback, and the '96 Civic DX sedan and DX coupe. 205/45-16 is the best matching size for most Integras and all other '96-00 Civics.
Your '93 Civic Si came from the factory with 185/60-14 tires. You're better off with 205/40-16 tires, which are 1.2 percent smaller in diameter than stock.

It's the other way around (for del sols as well as the '93 Civic Si). The 205/45 will throw off the speedometer and odometer much more than the 205/40. That's why you should get the 205/40.

205/40 is MUCH too small for a 2000 Civic Coupe; the outer diameter is 4.3 percent smaller than the stock 185/65-14. Stick with 205/45-16 (0.9 percent smaller than stock).

Thanks for the quick reply. Where are you getting all these calculations? My main concern is just the rubbing.
Currently I'm using 195/50/15 and I really like em, no rubbing at all.

You can look them up yourself using a tire calculator like the one on this website.
Your stock tire size is 185/65-14 (Civic HX Coupe or Civic DX Coupe) or 195/55-15 (Civic Si Coupe), which have almost exactly the same outer diameter.

If you keep the outer diameter the same as stock, and the width no more than 20 mm wider than stock, they shouldn't rub.

195/50-15 is too small for your car (3.4 percent smaller diameter than stock). You should be using 195/55-15, which is within 0.1 percent of stock. No rubbing whatsoever with 195/55-15 tires.
