It looks like the boot offered on tirelock.com is a more expensive and fancier version of the boot I purchased.
I bought mine from Miti (pronounced mighty) Co. for about $450 out the door shipped.

those boots are ok, but you have to look at how you can also put it in your car and also how it will keep your car safe. the only boot i see in that link which will fit in your car is the one to the far right.
if you look at that design, all you need is a padlock or padlocks and insert them into the many holes on the boot.
padlocks as we all know can easily be broken off with any good sized bolt cutter. so that defeats that particular boot. now how are you going to carry around those other boots???
if you look at the mitico.com design it actually fits snug behind your passenger seat and the center console. this is how i carry my boot. i dont carry any back seat passengers anyway so its not in anyones way either.
the mitico boot you can put a padlock on it to add another layer of security but it doesnt really need it. and there are no key cylinders to pick either, this boot is positively pick proof.
also if you notice the design and color, im sure you have seen this on your neighbors car around town... its the only government contracted wheel boot going on 45 years. why would you want anything less to protect your ride...
your car can still be towed, but it makes it very hard and time consuming. also keep this in mind most people think the city has put the boot on your car, and most tow companies know once the boot is on the car it is never to be moved or towed from its spot, so it may scare those illegal tow companies from towing your car aswell, because the city does keep track of the cars location and they do drive by the car to make sure the boot itself has not be tampered with (tamper with it and there will be fines from the city) and also these go on and off in less than minute once you figure out how to properly put it on. this isnt an end all solution but its one that does stand out and everyone will notice.
think of it in this way... if your like most of us in this world you spend atleast 30 minutes stuck sitting in traffic somewhere... do you have 5 minutes to spare to keep your car safe? (actually less than 1 minute) im sure you can put that much more time into securing your investment... dont rely on your insurance company to write a hefty check its not always a sure thing.
and like i always say yet only a few understand this
boot it or loose it

Thanks for the informative post cxSHOE. Which model would you then recommend going with on the mitico site?

i think you will be fine with the h14 please do not get the 12" boot it will still work but its better if the entire dome covers as much of the wheel face as possible. if you have 15"+ it will fit just fine.
there are different models to choose from, but i use the h14 and thats good enough. you dont really need the other models which have different options like locking the rear arm to the front arm for long storage situations, but if you just want a good boot and ease of installation stick with the h14. just email the company with your location and they will email you with the nearest distributor who can go into detail of each device and show you how to put it on aswell.

even if you have a boot, if a thief has a tow truck, they probably have tow dollies too.
i had a boot with my GTR and I think the only way it really helped was psychologically for me giving me peace of mind (granted the car was never stolen).

True, would be thieves can still tow your car. But atleast you'll limit the amount of ways your car can be stolen. The wheel boot will atleast stop those trying to hotwire your car and drive off with it themselves. And if a tow truck does come for your car, the amount of noise it makes will atleast alert you when you're near by.

I'd venture to guess that the boot eliminates about 90% of the car thieves out there.
But 98% of all statistics are made up on the spot, including this one.
