thx guys
when you buy the car make a recipt or a bill of sales stating that the car is being purchased with that motor in it.
include-
-sellers DL number
-sellers home address
-vin number of the motor and car
-state that he the seller is selling u a car with that motor and than put the vin number.
-have him than sign his name on the paper
-photo copy his DL & bill of sale or recipt for you and him
and car a copy of that with you in your car so that when u do get pulled over and the cop wants to see proof u have it. also if i were u b4 buying that car id get the vin number of the motor and car and bring it to the dmv and get it checked to see if its stolen. they will happily inform u. good luck

Ive had my hood popped a lot of times but everything was stock (except my DA was lowered and had 1-piece headlights and no front plate) so when a cop would ask I would ablidge. I had grease smeared over the B20Z stamp anyways and the block in that area had the regular grease/dirt from driving the car everyday. But since I had a stock intake box and stock exhaust manifold on and nothing visually showing the engine being modified in anyway (the B20 looks no differnet on the outside as the B18A/B), the cops didnt do or say anything and I was always on my way. maybe sometimes with a fixit plate ticket thou
same with smog. if the tech see's a "stock" motor in the car, no reason for them to look at the block stamp. never had a problem with a B20 motor in an Integra chassis.

btw, if you really do want to be "legit" and carry all papers with you at all times so you can show them to a cop, they will still probably send you to a smog ref just because it's a replacement motor in your car. and when you go to the smog ref, hes gonna tell you that you need to upgrade everything to obd-2 for that motor, including all parts on the car and run and obd-2 computer. actually more of a hassle that way.
what I said above isn't meant to sound shady or scandalous, but if you dont incriminate yourself or say anymore than you need to, then theres no need to bring it up if its not needed. the only time I would see a cop checking your engine block stamp is if you have some mods done in the engine bay or if your car screams out to them "racer" or whatever. but like I said about my old Integra, just lowered with 1-piece headlights up front for that stock/clean look, everything looked and was factory so no problems with cops wanting to check out the car. the less obvious and less consipicious you look the better. same for thieves to. they wont see your car (as much) as being worthy enough to take and strip for parts.

B20 will never technically be legal in an Integra because it comes out of a CRV. The BAR does not like SUV/truck motors being swapped into regular cars. The only engines you can get legally ref'd by BAR appear in other actual Honda passenger cars - prelude, civic, integra, etc. So you could get an H22, B16, B18A, B18B, B18C depending on the year of your car (new motor has to be from a newer or same year). Also, LS-VTEC and B20-VTEC will not get by a smog ref either, they don't allow hybrid motors since they were never put it into any production car.
Just do what rvd said and make your block as dirty as possible so no smog techs or cops notice, that's your best bet when running a b20.
If you are worried about getting pulled over and impounded for having a stolen motor, just make sure the VIN on the motor appears on whatever receipt you have. If they look further and see if it's a b20, you will be in trouble, but at least they can't accuse you of possessing stolen goods.

so if got pulled over and can show the proof of the motor is legit, the cops will max send u to smog ref or fixing ticket and won't go impounding it that bad?
