Just some food for thought. I think it was in import tuner or super street but either way they said lowering the Si was actually bad. There is a point at which something is too low and the Si is already set up damn near perfect. But I guess form goes over function most of the time.

well for example
i just paid 400 for my comptech springs and installation
200 for the springs, 200 for the work
only pain with "just springs" is that they have to take apart your oem setup and put the springs with ur oem shocks
where as with coils they just swap them out ***
*** if it is a COMPLETE coil like a Tein Flex system

I installed S-tech Teins last weekend. It was easy if you have a compressor. 5 hours, for Exhaust, CAI, and S-tech Springs. Wash and installed new wheels. S-Tech set it at a nice heigh and stance.

and thats why the 2 Honda Si that competed in the 25hour Thunderhill race were on some H&R Race springs (1.6" front / 1.3" rear)

thats a clean *** shot, size those rims!? 18s?
to the OP, you can pick up tein s-techs even cheaper, but depends on your perference...
In my opinion, i think it's like this, h-tech = nice comfort drop and increase in handling for sure, s-tech = more of a track/race driven type of drop...

"Engineers from Honda R&D Americas, Inc., in Ohio prepared the cars to National Auto Sport Association (NASA) U.S. Touring Car Championship specifications in an effort to demonstrate the performance capabilities of the Si's new chassis architecture and powertrain. While the basic engine, transmission, and brake system remained stock, the Civic Si's 2.0-liter engine was enhanced by a custom intake from AEM and exhaust components from DC Sports.
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup competition tires on lightweight Rays wheels, and custom H&R racing suspension modifications completed the handling package. Enhancing the car's aerodynamics were a carbon-fiber front splitter and adjustable rear spoiler."
Thats straight from hondanews.com. But notice the first part, "Engineers from Honda R&D Americas, Inc." I'm pretty sure theres abit more to that car than some fancy drop springs. The OP said nothing about strut bars, tie bars, shocks, camber plates, A-arms etc. etc. So i guess I should have said JUST lowering the new Si can be bad.

well I guess I stand corrected there sir, nice pull on the info
FYI to anyone interested in the information - i installed Tein S-Tech springs on my 2006 Civic EX - handles better - rides like stock!!!
if anyone is interested i can do a write up with pics included
did NOT take long at all to put the springs in.. the rear springs are eFFin EASY!!!! the front, just as EASY
IMHO - 8th gen suspension is WAY easier to work on or with than any previous year cars i've worked on the suspension with (e.g. BB2 (2000 prelude, whatta bitch); EM1 (2000 civic si); DC2 (94-00 integra)
