Default My Intake Test

While I have my bumper off on my Integra RS, I would like to modify the stock intake. I came up with two options and I wanted some feedback, what would be better for performance.

Would you actually lose torque if you remove the resonator? How much louder would it get. What option is better?

Umm pics dont work.

Second, why not do a DIY icebox? do a search for it, you can do it really easy with the bumper off.

This seems like a good idea.

I took off just the resonator box, but be real careful and you can keep the pipe. Because the box supports the pipe to the filter box you have to either support he pipe or do what i did. I just pushed the pipe up through the filter box so the rubber ring supported the pipe.

Ok I will do a butt dyno test with all 3. I still think option 1 might be good for some more torque.

Why would they design the air intake to come from the engine bay. They could have left the intake tubing behind the bumper?????

Is there any particular reason why you think it's going to add torque??

Just curious.

And heres something good to read about intakes...

It's funny how big a deal pple make intakes out to be, when in reality, on a stock engine it doesn't really do much at all.

Not 100% related to this thread but I did some independent testing of my JDM Sir when it arrived.

Factory Quote 180ps
Actual on my car 176bhp (as good as on the dot)
Without factory airbox (just rubber intake hose) 184bhp
With BMC CDA cold air box 180bhp and no loss of torque throughtout the whole rev range compared to the stock setup. In actual fact gained nearly 5 lbs more than the stock curve at some points of the curve!
