Default Pissed off at Carsound, Will never buy one of their cats. again!

I had a Carsound cat. that went bad after having it for around 3 months. It sounded like the honeycomb element inside had come loose. When I removed the cat. my idea was confirmed and the element was rolling aroudn totally free. there was nothing else that suggested there was a problem with it; just that the element had come loose.

So I returned the cat. to LandSpeedRacing and purchased a new cat. at my own expense. I was told once Carsound warrantied the cat. I would recieve credit for the cat. I bought at my expense.

It has now been over 1 month and the according to LandSpeed the Carsound cat. rep. has not returned any calls or told them that the faulty cat. would be warrantied.

I find this to be complete bullshit. I have dealt with many companies on warranties and never have waited this long to get a replacement or credit. How hard can it be to see that the element inside is rolling around in the fawking cat!!!!!!!!!!!!

Has anyone else experienced problems with returns or exchanges from Carsound? I would be asking mainly the people who deal directly with Carsound, i.e. dealers. My understanding is that Carsound does not deal directly with end users when it comes to warranty service.

I know LandSpeed did return the cat. cause I have talked with them. I did once try calling Carsound and no one was available to help me so they said to leave a voicemail and they would return my call; needless to say I never heard anything back.

My friend has had problems with warranties and replacements with Landspeed before. Do what Yoshi said and call carsound directly. Landspeed sucks.

Wow, that is odd to hear that about LandSpeed. I deal with one of the guys that works there directly and he has always taken care of me so I am very surprised to hear this.

Can I ask exactly why you say this? I personally have always been satisfied with their service.

just as a side note I had a random cat that did that once, I called up random (even though it was purchased through a shop) and they asked if I had filled out the warranty card.. I told them no, and he said, oh well, send yours in and I will replace it at no charge

I was verry impressed at the customer service!

I guess I should be happy with Random's Customer Service......they have replaced 4 cats for me

Gotta love that 5 year warranty!

To bad someone can't make a high flow cat that works, and weld the F#&$%^ heat shield on so it doesn't rattle!!!

I just called my rep at Car Sound and he doesn't work there anymore. That answers my question why I haven't got my last email answered. I talked with him back in mid March. I've left a message with another rep and emailed him this thread.

By chance did you get the date code from the bottom of the cat that went bad? 09/99s were defective.

The cat was not from the 9/99 batch, I think you asked me this before and I had checked and it wasn't.

Well, anyways, things got resolved. LandSpeed called me back and said they talked to Carsound and it was being taken care of and to come pick up my refund. So all is good now. Well, except that my JDM lower heat shield rattles, my brakes squeak, and my drivers seat has a plastic popping feeling in it.
