Its not the same block

B18c = 1.8 liters
B16b = 1.6 liters

But aside, I would go for B18c, well actaully I did. There is no replacement for displacement! Haha a whole .2 liters of displacement.

Which ever one you can get cheaper, either one will make you smile the first time you feel the almighty VTEC !

you wonna bet?

different internals but the same block. I would even get a gsr over b16b, torque owns. Besides b16b is 1000 over GSR and prolly like $500 less then ITR. Don't get a b16b unless you can find it for like 3gs.

I think it all depends on you future plans. If your planning to stay all-motor then absolutley get the b18c if you want to got turbo however, the money you save buying a b16 will go a long way toward a turbo kit and in the end the net gain will spank any b18c. If money isnt an problem go with the b18c and then turbo it lol

So how come they have differnt displacements if they have the same block?

I think you guys are confusing the blocks. First of all he is asking b16b no b16a junk. B16a is powerless compared to even a gsr.

We are talking about b16b (ctr) and b18c (gsr or itr). If you don't know what you are talking about please stay out of this.

ait buddy, same bore, same castings. If you read all the casting on the block (except the b16b one) you will find p72 same as gsr and ITR. Second of all the only difference between b16b(ctr) and b18c (itr) are the pistons, rods, crank, and cams. Everything else is exactly the same. Read up before you start talking ****. Blocks are exactly the same.

B16a block is totaly different then b16b block too.

You wonna keep on arguing or are you finaly going to STFU?

Hey man you need to chill, all I did was respond to a question that I thought I knew but it turned out that I did not know. Then I asked a question to clarify. You consider that talking sh@t?

That is the point of this thread to get some unknown information figured out

Then its not a JDM

Go with which ever one you think you will need the most, and amount of money you want to spend.. Both good engines

i've been asking myself the same question (b18c or b16b) and i think i'm going to be going for the b16b. tranny comes with a lsd stock, can rev it way higher (with proper head work), and i can probably sell most of the parts i take off. ctr cams, header, intake manifold etc... if it says type r on it, you can find someone to sell it to, lol
