I am going to be buying some 89 crx si seats, and I want to know if they will go into my 90 crx dx pretty easily. Does anyone know where I can find a writeup? I searched, but didn't really find anything helpful. I heard that you just swap the rails and they should fit, but I want to make sure. Thanks.

Heh, I'm totally green but I picked up an 89si seat for my 90DX, so my info would be relevent.
Yes, easy swap, I don't even think you have to change the seat rails, but I did because mine were in better shape.
It's easy, just bring your metric wrenches, and when the rails (still attached to seat) are loose, don't just tug the chair out of place, there is wiring for the seatbelt sensor that must be disconncted on it (has an easy plastic head with clasp that comes apart).
This is a very simple swap. I kept my original rails, but I do not think you have to, and if you do, no biggie, just swap the rails (seatbelt goes with it, the part attached to the seat).

No, it should be pretty straight forward between 90 and 89 crx's. The 88's are what will give you problems.
I put 90 ef hatch si seats into my 88 crx dx. Huge pain in the ***, but they work now. I probably should have swapped the pans, but I had to work with what was there (which didn't include the pans).
Good luck

Just posting info from the IMs in case anyone had similar questions
Awesome info. Do you have a write up? The seats are not coming with rails, so I will have to use my rails. I don't have to change the pans? Thanks for the helpful info.
phoenix_iii (12:41 PM 3/28/2006): If the pan is the metal flat attached to the seat, no, you don't. just the rails. If you are using your own rails, you are 100% in the clear. Glad I could help, limited experience but the swap you are about to do I did using the exact same years.
90CRXLS (12:50 PM 3/28/2006): awesome. How long did it take you?
phoenix_iii (12:59 PM 3/28/2006): Less than an hour taking your time... If you rushed you could do it correctly in 30 min or less. If you had pnuematics (at a shop) you could race it out in less than 10 min.
