Typically if water gets into the intake and enters the engine you are looking at a rebuild as you have hydro locked your motor. The parts you names off such as ECU and so forth would not be remotely effected by the physical water.

Yeah, I'm guessing you sucked up some water into your CAI? Make sure you invest in one of those water bypass valve things.

Your new motor should start up fine, and you shouldn't have any electrical problems, unless you drove into a lake maybe?

the Truth

I have also worked on the same car twice were he sucked water in the intake. It formed a puddle in the manifold, which we sucked it out with a baster, and a rag. Let the car sit overnight and it crunk right up the next day...both times.

Just in case you got lucky pull the plugs and crank it then replace the plugs and oil and try and start it up. (A friend of mine lucked out once.)

If not they your in for a rebuild.

Good luck brotha

water is only going to really screw things up if you get enough in there that the piston can't go to the top of the stroke because the chamber is full of water. (water doesn't compress well like air does). that's when you break or bend rods.

a little isn't going to hurt anything, and neither case will affect electrical parts, since they have nothing to do with each other. just like if you spill a bucket of water in the interior and fry the ecu, none of your rods are going to spontaneously bend.

what happened to the first motor?

<---, who has also seen how efficient a straw a cai makes in a flood.

I drove through some water yesterday too. I dont have a CAI on but my car is acting up. It will register lean for a bit, then slow down. If, while going lean, I floor it the RPM's will go down to 1200 and then its fine untill I have to shift agin.

Whats up?
