Default OT: Odd Display on Stock Clock

'00 Stock ITR clock... Starting today I've noticed 3 vertical segments appearing all the way to the left of the display. The numbers only use 2 vertical segments, and these are far to the left and not part of the first number. They are stacked like this:

They don't stay fully lit like the numerals (which work fine), but seem to be fading in and out!?... Just curious if this is a symptom it is going bad, or another of my occasional hallucinations!...

No electrical mods done recently; has anyone else ever encountered this?

Are they lighting up, or possibly reflecting from the sunlight? I've seen digital clocks outside that if you move them like you would say a hologram, you'll see things/digits that would not normally be there.

They have JDM covers you can put over top, or I'm sure you can find replacements for cheap...you can get anyone and change the bulbs. As I know we all love the red

The JDM pieces are actually complete replacement pieces that block off the hole where the clock resides. I don't think there is a bulb in the clock either.

Bingo... Seems to be a reflection issue (nothing illuminates in a dark garage).

I'm the original owner and have never noticed this before. I wonder if over time something has just degraded in the clock display, or I need my medications adjusted!?...

thanks.

There is not special colored blub. The amber comes from the lens, not the bulb
