Alright, I've been doing some research and asking alot of questions but have yet to get a confirmed answer.

Will an 01 automatic transmission fit in a 97?

I've searched other boards, asked honda mechanics, honda parts and other prelude owners. The majority say that it should fit but no one is 100% sure...

 

it might be tricky if its comming from a base model and going onto an SH or vice-versa, but if they are both base models or both SH it should be a straight swap

 

It would going from an 01 base to a 97 base.


This is what someone just told me...

As far as I know, it only fits 00-01 only. 3 different transmissions in the 5th gen lude. all are trans code m6ha but 97 is one year only,then 98-99, then 00-01. different transmission modules as well.

If the transmission comes with the trans computer it might work, but not 100%.
