Brake Pedal Too Stiff!! Help with diagnosis ASAP!!
For the last three weeks my brake pedal has felt stiff upon pressing it, my stopping time has lessen...to give evidence to this when a lady ran a light, despite me seeing her, jamming on the brakes did not hold up and resulted in this....

What could be the problem? The car barely wants to stop, and the pedal feels like it can only sink half the normal distance before getting overly stiff!!

Has it been using a lot of brake fluid. If so then more than likely the master cylinder has been leaking fluid into the brake booster and it is now full to the point of hydraulicly locking the booster. Also check the main vacuum line to the brake booster to check for a blockage.
I'm havent noticed it using up braking fluid, in fact its filled up nicely and i havent touched it in a year.

Brake booster/vacuum line to brake booster/one-way valve inline to brake booster has gone **** up...
They make rebuild kits for the boosters, the vacuum line and the valve are cheap new.
remove the vacuum line + plug it. If there's no leaks in the line & the idle straightens out then it's a diaphram or seal in the booster or the valve is shot...
edit:
sorry to see the damage...

I'd say it's a medium level PITA job to do... can be a little tight getting the old one out.
Did you check the vacuum line going into the booster first?
