Default help me pick a header for b16 w/bolt ons, Vibrant or DC Sports?

i'm trying to pick one of the two for my b16 with i/h/e. my future plans are to do a b20 or ls bottom end build up and ofcourse head work. the vibrant is stainless steel 4-2-1 w/ 2.5" collector and the DC sports is 4-1 w/ 2.5" collect (it's also freshly jet coated). both headers are brand new and in same price range. which one should i get and what's the diff bettween 4-1 and 4-2-1 again? is it torque, midrange and topend...i know some of you are gonna suggest hytec or rmf blah blah blah...but it's for what i have right now and my buget. thanks for ur help.

I just got a DC stainless 4-1 header and did the 2.5" collector mod. Not sure how much power it makes over the stock header. If I would of had the cash(425) I would have gone with a profab, but for less than 1/2 the cost (I bought the header used for 100, then the colllector mod & fixing the dents on the bottom was another 110) I like it a lot.

If you're going to swap your short block, might as well just wait and buy a nice header after your b20 upgrade. stock isn't all that bad...patience is a virtue

the Vibrant is 10 times better quality and makes good power. it also has much better ground clearance than the DC 4-1. my boy made over 200whp on a built 18c1 and BC3+'s with the Vibrant j-spec 4-2-1.

if your gonna spend $400 u might as well save up some more cash n go with rmf, smsp, toda, rage, etc..... it's just a couple more hundred dollars depending on which header u go with.

the 4-1 doesn't retain enough back pressure to make good torque on a small displacement motor. I have an ls/vtec with a gsr header on it that out performs the jdm itr/d-c sports/ and a few others just because of compression and back pressure.

It is more complex than back pressure. look at this link it has some good stuff. Dan

my buddy ran a DC 4-1 with a 2.5 collector back in the day, it ran super hard...

If you want a b16 header go with a TODA..but if you want a header for a B20 go with a DTR custom header..
