I want to change my 90 crx si to a mini me with a y8 head, do i need to go obd1 and if not what can i use to control vtec, and new fuel curves? Can i use the apexi vafc, or would it be better to buy the harness and go obd1? thanks for the input
You can use turboedit to change the fuel and timing curves and can control vtec with turboedit also via a/c clutch relay..
Going obd1 is always better..But you can have it running fine with obd0..

is it easier to just go obd1, it seems i wouldnt be able to tune it if it was still obd0, obd1 sounds easier and cheaper, thanks
please just convert it to obd-1 and use the right ecu (p28) and you will be much happier I promise.....I sold my mini me that I used to run obd 1 to a kid that put it in a car run obd 0 with a gay rpm switch and that thing didn't pull near as hard as it did in my car that had the right ecu
i did both.my current set up is a mini me running obd0 on a jdm b16 ecu(PW0). you can run turbo edit or BRE on it. but you're right, the car pulls way harder with a "real" computer than a vafc controlling vtec.
