I searched the archives. So i went outside to go try out evrything they said. and now it is really bad. if i put it in 1st it will go to 1st and 2nd. If i want 3rd and 4th i have to slam it over. and 5th is just a bitch and no reverse. Visa versa, if im in 3rd and 4th, in order to get to 1st and 2nd I have to slam over to the left.

 

I think it might be your syncros buddy, it happened to me on my car the it would die in nuetral, then I just dropped the gears. Hope you have better luck though.

 

maybe your shift linkage i bent mine one time kinda did the same thing

 

check your linkage as previously mentioned. If your sincros are shot (which they may be) it shouldnt be difficult to move the shifter, but just as the shifter goes into the gear it will grind, but if the shifter moves freely into all gears with the car off then its internal (maybe syncros).

 

Hmmm do you have tranny fluid in it? Check that first easiest if you have fluid in it drain it and check for metal shavings.... then if worse comes to worse go pull your tranny apart.....
