Default Boring a B16

A friend of mine asked me if you could bore out a b16 to 82mm.. which is a 1.65... he was wondering if you could do this with no issues?

yes, thats as far as I would go without sleevs. I have an empty b16a2 block for sale if you live in virginia. Would make life easier.

yea you can do that iv seen pretty big tho... im not a fan though because with a gsr block you get the same stuff as b16 but better bore already and oil squirters which help cooling the motor down... for some reason the b16s never had that... 4 the money id suggest gettin a gsr block and throwing the b16 pistons in it (the PR3 jdm ones at least)

I'm in Northern Virginia, and I am selling that exact set up. A complete 99 gsr short block, with b16a2 pistons (not installed, still on the b16a2 rods.) Should bring the compression to 11.3

I did this set up in my car, but i bored over the block and got aftermarket b16a2 copies at 82mm and I belive i have a compression ratio of 11.6
