Default i got my car dynoed saturday

i was disappointed but the car isnt tuned so i guess its not too bad
i have a 1995 gsr
mods-
ctr pistons
bored .010 over
comptech header
comptech icebox
aem fpr

Max power -165.89

Max torque -129.68

let me know what you think
and how much power i will gain after i get it tuned

with stock cams, stock ecu (i'm assuming), and no tuning, those numbers seem about right. I'm sure after you get some tuning done, your motor should be pushing around 175+ with the stock cams.

yes thats will stock cams and ecu

im getting skunk2 cam gears sometime this week and i will also be getting it tuned so we will see how that goes

Did you go to dyno day at AMS? I was there, but in the morning...I guess I missed you.

Those numbers don't sound too far from what they should be. You should be thinking about more aggressive cams to take advantage of the higher compression.

pct pistons in a gsr will yield a static compression of 12.4 according to c-speed...better get that damn thing tuned with that kind of compression.

its all about the way you tune your car man
you cant beat a tune, for power for the buck not to mention how much better your car will run
look into a nice pair with cams and a Intake mani for the most power out of your fairly stock train that will def get your numbers closer to you 200 whp goal probably close to 185wheel

first off no one can honestly tell you how much power you will yield with your setup.

not to be a dick but it seems kinda of out of wack. what way are you going? as in FI or N/A. it seems you dont have that part down but it looks like your going N/A. lets say your going N/A so at this point your at 165WHP. without getting the correct parts you need that will work well togther you wont get the goal you want which is 200 WHP.

*What kinda of exhaust do you have? if your going N/A lets get a 2.5in.

and as previously stated cams wont do to much without the cam gears do it. also at this point to achieve 200WHP your gonna want to get for example Stage2Skunk2 cams and cam gears (which i prefer sence i have them and enjoy very much ) but at the same time your gonna have to upgrade your valvetrain.

and if your actually going N/A? your missing key components to your build.
i mean you got CTR pistons but, did you think about getting CTR crankshaft and rods to go with it while your at it? i like how you stayed with comptech icebox and headers but what about a intake manifold? what size exhaust are you going with? every part matters in a build. ( i've searched and cant find your header piping size ) but lets not bottleneck your exhaust with aftermarket headers that flow into a stock cat and stock exhaust. that makes you lose power right there.

What do you plan on tuning with to achieve 200WHP? once you get all the parts, then and only then should you do your tune. and then you should know a good tune can bring you a long way.

keep in mind what you want and dont just throw things on " LEGO BUILD " do it right the first time and you'll never regret it. Mike.

CTR crank and rods?? again, wtf?? why does he need those? B18c1 &gt; CTR (B18 has more displacement = more power) Putting CTR crank and rods in the b18c1 will only destroke his engine which would be pointless.

There is nothing wrong with his build so far. He just needs to build his head and have it tuned.

Also he should have it tuned NOW because he is running a VERY differnent setup than stock, and if he runs long enough on an untuned setup, he will probably destroy the engine because its probably running too lean or too rich. Which would equal = FAILURE. So have your it tuned right now the way it is, and then have it tuned again when you put more parts on.

What he needs is a good aftermarket exhaust. Not 2.5inch. An RS*R ExMag will be much better than some 2.5 inch exhaust.

If you want to reach your goal of 200whp, you need some good cams (Sk2 proseries or blox type b), valvetrain, intake manifold, intake, and a good header. probably going to need to look at hytech, smsp, etc..

but have your engine tuned now. you dont wanna mess your hard work and have all that money you spend go down the drain.

Also, what do you plan on doing with your FPR without having all the neccesary components that would make that truely useful i mean correct me if im worng but i would find that neccesary sence you truely dont have a N/A build or FI. i want to say i like where your headed but your next couple of upgrades are critcal to what you want to achieve.

Skunk2:--Stage 2 cams and cam gears
SK2--Titanium retainers and valve springs
SK2--Intake manifold
AEM cold air intake
DC headers 4-1
Greddy evolution
ACT stage 2 clutch
Quaife LSD
Port matched throttle body
Hi-flow cat
ApexI V-AFC

i know my build has its ups and downs and that why im trying to inform you so that you dont have to buy parts to make parts you already have perform better.

first off let talk about mine.

--Greddy Evo. rather have a 2.5in. which would help me get better numbers. im looking at K-teller.com custom exhausts with a 22in. resonator to keep it quiet but if you have the money Mugen twin-loop.

ApexI V-AFC. never again. go with Hondata or Chrome. i believe with hondata you would have to convert to obd1 but thats what you already have.

im now at 178WHP and this is with my weak tuning device and the a headgasket that is just about BLOWN. errrrrrrr. but, you have a motor in your hands that you can have alot of fun with. do it right the first time.

***i had to say this. They always said '95 GSR's where the best and fastest i dont know why but i think its true.

**oh, and if i was'nt so nieve when i got my tune done i would of known how bad they tuned my car. peak HP is'nt everything. have a nice Curve and your all good.
Toque is HP. keep that in mine.

As i said if he already has CTR pisotns he MIGHT AS WELL HAVE GOTTEN THE CRANKSHAFT AND RODS.

so if hes talking about CTR he mean JDM which produces more displacement than a USDM GSR Piston would.

More displacement from a piston?? please show me!!! maybe if you go from 81mm to 84 mm.. but he cannont do that.. He just put CTR pistons. CTR pistons just raise compression, NOT displancement dumbass..

CTR pistons in a gsr block just raise the compression.. actually a little too high for street driving.. but hey..its his engine, he can do what he wants..

But please, dont post anything stupid like why not use a CTR crank and rods if he's using CTR pistons. You dont have a clue what you're talking about..

- CTR motor is a 1.6L
- B18c1 is a 1.8L

CTR crank in a B18c1 would be loosing displancement and HP.
