okay so my car is a 96 ls automatic with 74k miles. I have just put on some tires and wheels about a 3 weeks ago and had the whole car looked over and everything was fine. Couple of days ago this weird noise starts coming up. It only comes up at about 1600-1800rpm and about 3100-3300 rpm. even when the rpms are going down past these rpms, there is still a noise. Now explaining this noise is hard. It sounds like somethin is maybe almost coming off but there is somethin restricting it... i know this description sucks. But i have no clue how to describe it. Maybe i can get a sound clip of it but i doubt it would be loud enough. I was thinking it's either somethin with the transmission or maybe one of the belts... ( hopefully not timing, planning to replace it at 80k) any opinions? i know hard to tell by my horrible description but mayeb someone had a prob like this also...
