90 CRX SI L3 Transmission - 97 type R LSD
So here's my question mostly what the title says.
I have a 97 type R LSD sitting on the shelf has anyone ever tried and put it in a D series SI case?
I'm gonna tear the case apart tomorrow and see it it even possible if the ring gear will bolt up if the diff is even small enough to fit in the case. I have a feeling it's not but it's worth a try.
I post this here hoping some one will actualy offer some useful info.

And you know this why. what exactly won't work?
I was thinking just basic size of diff. ring gear?
as fas as axles i was going to use an 86-89 integra intermeidate and 90-93 teg axles.
I'll let you know what exactly doesn't work as i'll split the case after work.

OK so you can't blame me for trying.
It doesn't work. It may with a whole lot of machining or using some bits from the type r transmssion.
The ring gear does not swap from the SI. As the carrier on the Type R is too big for it to fit around.
I think you could physically make the LSD fit in the case with swapping the bearings from the SI.
You could get a custom ring gear made or machine out the Si to fit over the LSD.
The overall height of the 2 diffs is very close you may have to shim to make it work.
If the counter shaft from the type r trans would fit in the case and mesh with the input shaft of the SI you maybe able to make it work that way.
Either way this is proving too much work.

Holly crap duh! I knew what i was doing i was wondering if i could i now know you can't as stated in the first post i wanted constructive information. Don't just tell me you can't tell me why. Alot of things are interchangeable it doesn't ever hurt to try.
