Default my nephew bought a crx....please help

he bought the car and the guy told him it needed a wire harness and distributor. well we got it home and put another wire harness on it and another distributor. well we have no spark from distributor, which came out of my running car. so that eliminates the igniter. if someone can please help us with this on what it might be that we are missing, it will be greatly appreciated. the car is a 88 hf with a d15b7. thanks in advance

You sure you got the right wire harness??? what harness are you talking about anyway? the entire engine harness? you may not have it grounded all the way

Tranny ground, thermo ground and of course battery ground but of course the more you ground the motor the better it will run anyway, hence why aftermarket grounding kits sale so good. I do not know the HF very well but I have heard of major differences in the wiring when compared to a DX or Si. You may not be able to use the Si harness w/o major modification, maybe somebody will chime in that knows for sure.

89 Si engine harness will not work on 88 HF - all of the wires (except one) in the driver's side connector are in different locations

88 HF will not run using Si harness - all of the wires, except for one, in the driver's side connection to the chassis harness are in different locations on each side of the connector.that may be the problem i think
