Check with Gran Turismo game. That should give you an idea on what to expect.

So you get more HP with port & polish than i/h/e right? so why not get port & polish first b4 the i/h/e?

well, a light job you could do in your garage (just use some sand paper and "polish" the ports).

The real thing requires head removal and to really get power out of it takes a trained hand. http://www.theoldone.com <--- they have pretty pictures

Because if you do the p/p before you have the rest of the setup then the airflow will not be suffecient to utilize the improvement of airflow on te head...

P/P is only one PART of a good motor...

Local machine shop that`s installing my valvesprings quoted me $600. I wasn`t so curious after that since the $600 would cut into my AR-15 fund considerably.

port and polish jobs will usually run anywhere around 500-900 depending on how good the job is. PORTFLOW does an excellent job when it comes to cylinder heads -- especially honda's.

as far as hp figures, that is sort of a gray area. the hp figures will depend on how much work is done to the whole engine itself. DO NOT expect huge gains with port and polish jobs. u will get minimal gains if the motor is basically stock or just the regular i/h/e. headworks shine when combo'd with force induced applications or N/A applications that carry big cams, big compression, etc.

in sum, try not to compare hp figures with somebody else's or figures from video games -- that is very unrealistic. every engine is different no matter how exact ur combo is to somebody else's. tuning will be ur best bet to get ur optimal hp gains, whether it be a headwork, high compression pistons, cams, and the like.

hth.

I'm pretty sure he was joking about the whole Grand Turismo thing.
