Default Semi OT: Reason not to break into my car, or any in FL.

I was reading the local news site while at work today and came across a very interesting story. Goes to show, that in FL you have the right to shoot someone if you feel threatened. To the theives trolling the board, I hope you end up like these kids...

Yup.. that would be Florida's shoot-first law that was passed a couple months back. IIRC, there was a lengthy thread in GDD on it.

That's why I got a shotgun. Mainly for duck/rabbit hunting, but I wouldn't mind hunting for thieves.

I've been thinking of getting a combat shotgun for the house as well. On sale right now at my local gun range.

I'm particularly fond of the law because I came home to find someone had broken into my hatch but was probably scared off my my dogs. I'm sure they'll be back. We set up a camera that has audio in the house so the dogs will hear anyone pull up. I have 3 guns, 1 of which is in the kitchen ready to shove up their *** if they come back.

... both of those 97 ITRs have since been molested, and most likely totaled.

Mine by thieves and Brad's by the hit and run a few days ago.

Mine's Covert-op Black. I'm getting a .40, as well. But the sound of shotgun pump > handgun cocking.

Dang Girl! Let's go shootin! We have a bill similar to this that is going through legislation, so far so good for us ATLiens. The bill typically states that you do not have to retreat first if threatened by deadly force. Now deadly force is a very broad statement. LoL

Me: Officer, I'm 5'-6" at 120lbs. That guy weighs almost three times my size and could literally crush me and kill me.
Officer: So that's why you fired two warning shots right?
Me: Yes Sir
Officer: In the head?

Is this the same as Texas' "castle doctrine," where you're pretty much free to use deadly force to protect your house and property? This may be a great oversimplification, as I've never really researched their laws.

Here it's phrased more like "fear of imminent harm to self and family." Cars don't count
