This topic comes up about twice a month. More so if you count all the other forum sections. There is a wealth of knowledge.

I don't know of anyone off hand here on HT who imports cars. Your best bet is to speak to the companies themselves. I'll tell you that they are generally hesitant because of the issues that you will get with U.S. Customs.

Good Luck!

<----

FYI its not US Customs that gives you the greatest issue.

It's getting the right classifications from US Customs to register the vehicle through the DMV (minor) and actually having the car inspected by the DMV as a roadworthy vehicle.

What exactly makes a USDM ITR not a "true type R", and why would you "swap" in a B18C5?

You need to do a lot more research before anything else.

Dude it ain't worth it. Find yourself a nice USDM refitted with a JDM FE. Unless you have money coming out your ***, pay attention to the classified section here and autotrader or whatever you got out your way and try to find one already all dealt with and made legal.

You just want to get some attention or why do u want the RHD so bad?

Read all of this, all pages, then if you have specific questions, read it again and if that doesn't answer the questions there's a red search button in the top right hand corner of this forum.

Or even go to http://www.itrca.com for more info.

There you go. Buy one that's already here and registered.

Real Type R's are JDM only. They never brought it to the US market.

OP: Get one from the UK. They're the same.

After doing the search, I hope the post originator NOW know that USDM ITRs are "real" and can be found here in the U.S. thus eliminate the hessle from sourcing one from Japan.

OK man, I guess to sum it up you have a hard-on for Jap-R. Just take some of the bank loan and get yourself some english lessons.
