im planning on getting a jdm 5lug conversion and i found out that they need 36mm axles from jdm itr. i was reading up on if there is a way to get around buying jdm axles and some people said that i can just get the cv joint from a prelude or accord and put it on a b series axles and it would work. i was wondering if anybody has done it before? and is it the easy as repairing cv boot?

 

I've heard that you can do it with the 97-01 preludes outer cv joints or the honda crv. I've never done it before but I was about to until I decided to get some jdm axles to avoid running into other problems. Now I have an extra set laying around just incase my other axles run out..

 

i say get 32mm usdm So you dont have to waste your time making axles.

icic... hey man.. one question.. for JDM axle do i need both sides?? driver and passenger

so why not get USDM 5 lug and save some hassle?

Yes you can do that, Also raxels.com makes axles for that set-up and they go for around 400bucks. Why go with the US 5lug if it has weaker axles. I have been rolling a JDM 5lug for over a year and have had no problems. If you think about it you shouldnt be worried about axles, they are ment to last. The only reason people are telling u to go with a US set-up is because they think that finding jdm axles is hard. Trust me its as easy as getting US ones if you know what you are doing. Also the guy at raxels.com is really cool and has the axels already made.

but the way, do i have to change the intermeidate shaft? i dont' think so right?
i will only need the 36mm axle for driver/passenger sides in order to use the JDM ITR 5 lugs right?

The half shaft is fine. You will only need the axles. Here is the exact web page incase the other one didnt work. http://www.raxles.com/. I wouldnt worry about changing axles, they take awhile to get messed up. You can also go with the civic type r 5 lug, its the same as the US coversion 32mm.
