ya i know everyone is goign to tell me to search... i cant find anything about whats happening to my swap... i did it yesterday and i got the car so it could drive, but i think its running very rich and when i hit the gas it bogs down and backfires from the intake. and almost stalls. once i get past 3000rpm it drive ok but not what it should feel like. iv got code 9 and 20. what iv read is that code 9 usually means that i need a new dizzy.. and code 20 is electric load detector and i have no clue on how to fix that since i dont know how to use a multimeter very well. any way to fix this problem .. is it something to do with timing?
check the timing, otherwise 9 is probably a bad distributor. The eld code might be from the nasty short in your distributor, or a bad alternator, or, something else. The eld unit is in your main fusebox.

well i was planning on getting a used dizzy tomorrow so hopefully that will solve both codes and run better.. but how would the timing be that bad.... i made sure the rotor on the dizzy was pointing to the same place on the mpfi dizzy before i took the old one off. i dont think its the alternator ... never gave me problems before.

when i took the cap off the dizzy a little screw fell out .. coudl that be why my code 9 is coming up and why its boging down when i hit the gas? car runs great after 2000 rpm.... and doesnt bog as much after it warms up.. oh and is the intake supposed to make a suction sound when the car is on and when i turn the car off it does it for a sec like its taking its last breath
