Default From Rice to Nice... Where'd you come from? Post up.

We've all done it...

The wings, the euros, the neons, oh my!

We all had to start somewhere, and a lot of us started as ricer high school students who didn't know any better. The joy of posting up the first pictures of our new 38" rims on our Civic on CarDomain.com. The utter bliss we felt when we first heard the unmistakable growl of an eBay fart can on a factory 1" CX exhaust.

Fortunately, most of us learned the error of our ricey ways and managed to partially redeem ourselves by building new, cleaner cars in an attempt to forget our dark past.

But as much as we try to escape it, the past still looms...

So here's what's up - We must expel these ricey demons within! Post up pictures of your first ricey rides, and then each subsequent ride afterwards showing improvement.

Now, being that a lot of what we're about to see is going to sadden, anger, confuse, and possibly sicken us, a little flaming may be necessary. BUT REMEMBER, the point of this thread is that we have learned the error of our ways, and it's all in good fun, SO LET'S NOT BE ********* ABOUT IT! If you just want to argue, go find the latest “Turbo vs. Nitrous” thread. Let's just have fun. Point and laugh. Cry your self to sleep. Whatever...

Since I am initiating this rice-fest, I will kick it off!

I started with this bucket-o-rice!!! When I bought this car it was an immaculate, virgin, '92 CX hatch. I got it for $1,600. I would kill to find another like it for that price. But because I had no idea what I had, this is what became of it...

/\ Yes, that is an eBay wing on the back of that hatch. Yes, that is an eBay body kit. And yes, the hood, gas door, kit, and hatch were painted with rattle cans from Advance Auto Parts.

That is a genuine FRONT MOUNT INTAKE from "the Bay". It added 57 BHP... but only 51 to the wheels.

No, this is not a joke. This really was the interior of my car.

What? What's that? I'm sorry, for some reason I can't hear you very well.

Then, one day, everything changed. I was walking out of Wal-Mart to my car. As always, I couldn't remember where I parked the stupid thing. As I searched around the lot, I saw a metal wing extending into my view from behind a closer vehicle. "Stupid alluminum wing having ricers..." I thought to my self. But as I walked closer and the other vehicle was out of the way, I realized horrifically that the stupid ricer wing was on the back of my car. At this time I had an epiphany, and I began my dericification.

\/ I did the best I could to fix it, but there was only so much that could be done.

\/ Hmmmm... what can I do to make my car better, I know! Drop a JDM D15B engine in it, get a B000 tranny, and boost it!

Wait... someone forgot to tell me that you're not suppposed to use non-intercooled dryer hose for charge piping. The funniest thing is that this car actually ran a high 13. It was a tiny turbo boosting 7, non-intercooled lbs, with BlueBox as management. Go figure...

I finally sold that piece, (got $3,000 for it ) and picked up this one for $2,400.

It was a completely stock "S" model when I got it, then I added the lip, bronze HX wheels, and painted the corners and fogs as seen below. Hmmm, definitely an improvement.

Then I went all out, got it painted and tried the turbo thang again!

/\ Hey, I managed to get an intercooler this time...

Gotta have tha pink air freshener baby, oh yeah!

/\ Managed to get hard chargepiping this time too! WOW, movin' on up...

It still had the factory D15B7 and DX tranny though, and I only managed a best time of 14.9. That, coupled with a leaky roof, influenced me to sell it. Got $4,000 for it.

\/ This is my newest. Stock Si at the moment but I have all the parts I need to make this a high compression mini-me BEAST. I plan on doing that, adding a Zex stage 2 cam, a 75 shot, some tuning, suspension work, and a nice glossy black paint job, and I think she'll be doing just fine.

Ok boys, let's see what you got...

thank god i personally didn't go through that sad thing about those pics... is that they're back in '04. that style was left in 98. lol.

i owned a MK3 supra(in 1997)(no pics). left it as it is. my first taste of boost & the first ride. then moved on to a '96 ekhatch (in 2000)(jdm movement here & there)(a couple of pics i gotta look for). now to the EP3(2003).

yup, if you were in the scene in '96, everyone was into bodykits & neon. lol.

\/ This is why.

It is an OEM bumper. I just slapped it on because it was time for paint. I took those pictures right after paint because I was excited. The bumper was eventually professionally aligned before sold though.

And you sold that shitty *** camera you took the JDM picture with and got a real camera for the rice picture!

Nice car though.

Thanks for participating so I don't feel like such an ***!
