I have a 94 ls with AEM intake DC 4-2-1 headers and racing medallion exhuast and now i want cams and cam gears and i need to know the best setup for the price!!!! so tell me which cams and gears you guys had the best experience with and got the most power out of!

 

i have been hearing the Type-R cams r great, and Skunk 2 gears...

 

DAMN!!!! are we here stupid or what???? Type R cams on an LS????? Hmmmm.... may they wont work because LS doesnt have VTEC. Before you open your mouth or type on your keyboard think so that you dont look like an IDIOT!!!!!.

as for the cams i heard crower cams are good for LS i was going to run that on my LS but i went out and baught a GSR.

P.S. How qucik is team too quick???? especially because you guys dont know what cam cant and can be ran on a LS. just to help you out VTEC cams Dont work on NON VTEC!!!!!!!

Don't get the Crower 402's. For the same price you can get 403's and probably still run stock valve springs and retainers in you maintain your stock redline... or get the 404's with springs and retainers. For $400 that it costs and wouldn't get less than the 403's.

 

I've got a similar setup to the originator of this thread and I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with a set of Crower 403's and also get the new spring retainer set. I'm creeping up on 95k now so I'd rather be safe than have to buy a new motor if some of that chit gets into the chamber. Of course then I'd have an excuse to buy a JDM B18C5 and just have some real fun. those appear to be the best buy for the money. talk to g2integrity as well I know he's running them on his car with the stock rev limit and stock springs and retainers and check out the crower website for the official version of their products. Also Crane makes some similar cams for the LS engine but apparently no one on H-T wants to post a reaction to them...
I'll probably look into getting them towards the end of the month and if I do it will probably be off that group buy. I don't remember if anyone posted the link so here it is: http://www.groupbuycenter.com. Do a quick filter for Honda/Acura and go in like 10 pages or so and you should see the group guy for Crower Cams. Once I get my cams and everything installed I'll post about how they turned out, but don't hold your breath for my critique, I have a couple of pieces to get before I'm ready to drop them in.

 

Get Crower 403's. I'm running those on stock springs and stock redline. The cams are awesome.

 

my friend was running the jg 301 cams in his LS....he was beating GSR's, Delslows, and the SI's.....crazy cams!

 

get your stock cams regrinded mildly a good horsepower increase

 

no regrind...=weakening stock component over time

 

DO NOT regrind. if at all possible stay away from regrinds. just spend the extra money and buy skunks or for an arm and a leg you can buy todas and juns

Unfortunately you can't do this bit either. Jun and Toda don't make non-vtec cams. there is no non-vtec Integra in the land of the rising sun, lucky SOB's. Over here you have two choices for camshafts as far as I can tell Crower and Crane. but I totally agree with the regrind opinion above, don't regrind it, just buy some new ones already formulated for the power curve you want.

 

if you can't afford new cams do it, i did they work just fine

 

i got 403's in my ls and top end it def pulls alot harder. however without tuning it is def not worth it. i storngly suggest you get it tune with them. i'm getting a V-AFC and hopefully my car will run a big stronger and smoother. idle is rough , sounds like a mustang but once it gets going it's very smooth.

Anyone Running the 404's?? if so, why havent i seen anyone using them on the street? i know its a more rough idle...but for what reasons would i want to stay away from the 404s? any feed back is greatly appreciated
