want to buy a cheap tig need advices.
hello everybody.
i want to buy a cheap TIG. i cant afford all the $1000+- tigs out there. i want somthing small to do minor work. but i dont want it to short on me and such.
i know that the tigs that available for the $500 range need a strike to start the arc and i also know that i cant use foot pedal on them.
but i do want one anyway
which one do you think is better:

ps.... i need it in 220v.

What do you think you can do with < 100 amps?
Exhaust work, and that's it. No suspension, no cages, no motor mounts, etc. Figure 100 amps is equal to penetration of steel only 1/10 of an inch. Why not just save up some extra money and get something that isn't going to severly limit what you can and can't do?

i am from israel and tig welders cost alot here. my budget is $500 not include shipping to israel.
i can buy a old tig from ebay for cheap but the shipping cost wont be worth it. so i'm looking for something small.

Don't waste your time with a cheap tig you will end up buying a new one after you realize the 500 machine can't do much. SAVE YOUR MONEY for something worthwile period end of thread.
If that's is all of the money you have pick up the smiley unit from ebay. Tig/plasma combo. Going to be your best bet, people have had good luck with them. Def. would reccomend saving your money for a miller etc.
