i'd keep the airbags... but steering wheel to the face would be fun too.

I wouldn't get a Momo, I'd get a Tekniq wheel. They have a unique hub for every wheel they sell.

you are going to break before the momo will, but italian leather is pretty nice. I have been driving old honda's w/o airbags since I was 16 so putting a momo in my 93 hatch didn't bother me, just wear your seatbelt and don't drive like an idiot.

Well, for the past few years I have had a Spacro wheel on, then added a quick release to it. I liked it. But after time it started to feel lose, It wasnt a super tight fit with the quick relase. I didnt really care for the look of it anymore. Im slowly turning my car back to stock.

Just last week I put back on my stock wheel. It feels so much better now. I have to get use to it again tho, Its bigger. Plus I like the fact of having my air-bag back. mostly for the crazy f'ers out there.

If there was some way of having a smaller wheel with an air-bag, quick release, stock looking wheel.. that would be great. Wish full thinkin

i personally would remove the airbag, i have seen in quite a few cases where the airbag does more harm than good in low speed collisions and the fact that cars didn't have them for a long time means you will be fine. Remember the Supplementary Restraint System is just that, supplementary your seatbelt still does a much better job...

Federal offense to modify or tamper with the airbag system.

not if you have been in an accident, you dont need to replace it, also it isnt illegal everywhere although you might be dropped from your insurance company

I have a Momo steering wheel and I kept my airbag. My steering wheel is from a EK9 though. Someone also asked for a picture.

That wouldn't exactly be "tampering" with it if it was deployed, now would it? Federal laws apply in ALL states... so I don't know how you can assume its illegal in some places and not in others.

I like aftermarket wheels better, and as working in a body shop I can just tell you that the air bags are a pain in the *** and sometimes deploy un-neededly, and you have to go through a bunch of **** to put them back in and then the state has to do their song and dance, etc. etc. - it's a major hastle, also it's illegal in the US to have a car w/ air bags and take them out (aftermarket steering wheel would do that...) so it's like, illegal vs legal and pain in the ***

I know what we do at the garage as standard procedure is my friend just disables the SRS on his cars, then puts it back on when the car gets inspected, just don't want it to deploy if u hit something and the car would have been salvagable if the airbag didn't deploy

It's really up to u though, aftermarket steering wheels are illegal

I was actually thinking about getting a wheel, but just for security reasons, is that a good idea? or should I just stick with the stock one also?

I don't really care for an airbag but I just don't like the look of aftermarket steering wheels and their "bare" metal centres. I ended up getting a JDM CTR wheel w/airbag like the one pictured a few posts up. Great steering wheel, really beefy and feels great in your hands.

you can buy a tekniq anti-theft hub that works with Momo or momo-style hubs:
http://www.tekniqauto.com/US/snapoff/snapoff.htm

Tekniq wheels are ugly as sin.
