Default 97 Civic Dx Swap

Its time for a swap on the current engine I have in my 97 Civic DX. I am looking for the most bang for the buck and was wondering if any one could recommend some good options for me. I want to know what engine would work with my current transmission? If not what would you recommend.....
Thanks.

A d16z6 and a d16y8 would work with your current tranny, unless you plan on going turbo they aren't really worth building. (no offense guys but you aren't gonna see high numbers...please prove me wrong) A d16y8 would be your best bet because its ob2a and you wouldn't need a conversion harness, so it would be cheaper. For a b-series motor, I'd recommend researching and see what route you want to go and what your goals are. B16's can produce high numbers turbo'd and they are cheap, you could also go with a b18c1 which is more expensive but has more torque and a lot of people favorite candidates for a swap. I'd recommend finding something that will suit your goals as far as power, what your making your car for, and your price range. good luck and have fun.
