22x8x13 is good enough for the power you are making. if you plan on making more power, get the 23x8x13 already so you have room to play with. But in general, the 22" will work fine with what you have.

I dont mean to pick on you since you're selling your slicks, but a 9" wide slick isnt necessary for a car making this much HP. the 8" is good enough in an all motor application.

The Tq numbers throw it off though, so can this setup be Turbo? If so, then the 22x9 can work. You dont really want a wide slick for all motor, its not needed.
On a turbo setup is where a wider slick should be used for better contact patch for more traction.

Any thoughts on the final gearing affecting tire sizing? I know that most H VTEC trannies have a 4.2 final.

of course it does. has a significant effect. thats why the 22" tall slick is good enough in this case. The smaller diameter the tire, the its like increasing the FD ratio. If you use a taller tire, its actually making it less than a 4.2

I agree. I am curious as to what RPM he is currently going through the traps at.

From my personal experience, I was running a 4.7 final, with a saenz gearset on 24.5" M and H slicks. I found I was shifting into 5th before the 1000ft mark, passing through the traps at about 6500RPM. This in my case was too low. Best with this set up in a 2550lbs car was 12.73 @ 107.7.

Previously, I had been running a stock gearset, with the same 4.7 final on the 24.5" slicks and ending up at the top of 4th at 7800 right at the line. no extra shift into 5th. Best time with this set up was 12.72 @ 108.5.

I have found that the rate of acceleration with the Saenz gearset is faster, but too small of a slick size is causing me to shift into 5th. I have opted for a 26" slick to see what happens. Should help out with the additional roll out. Also, I am curious why a wider slick is not prefered in all motor? I do know that my 24.5 slicks were 9.2" wide and the new 26" are 8" wide. Less drag? Any input?
